KLM Airlines

This project was inspired by the many kinds of advertisements and promotions displayed by airlines worldwide. The information presented in these designs specifically reflects information for a new transatlantic flight directly from Austin, Texas, to Amsterdam.

The goal of this project was to develop an understanding of the relationship between different attributes of text, handle the hierarchy of information presented in each design, and work with a photographic element.

This project was completed by moving through five phases of development, each with increasing complexity. The primary factors I focused on were type weight and size, placement, and size of the photo element.

The final designs feature dynamic uses of type size and weight, as well as an exploration of various layouts and emphasis.

This project helped me become more comfortable pushing expectations and typical rigidity in typography. I gained a better understanding of the interactions created by increasing the emphasis on various typographical elements.
